Eric Mintz funny you mention that cause im majoring in immunology, sexdactyly is the term and though it WAS an autosomal dominant trait, but since it is pretty much phased out by now many don't consider as such including me
Kurk Knight I'm taking college level bio course in HS. Dominant and prominent are two VERY different things. Six fingers is dominant, 5 fingers is prominent.
Jared Byers no quite smart actually, but yeah, just goes to prove how good the artist is, upon further inspection your right but the finger on the far right wasn't drawn as well, and it looked like the the index finger was curled to appear that a finger was cut off, i thought that was the idea kinda like the others that used real objects in contrast to the pencil
Jared Byers oh and having 6 fingers isnt more dominant, the more dominant genes would be ones that are more prevelent, your thinking of more evolved possibly, like having smaller canines and pinky toes, but, no organism is more or less evolved than another, stating it that way infers that evolution has a goal that it is attempting to reach.

Well, it is dominant and it's not. It was dominant until it became unnecessary, just like how humans used to have 6 toes. It was once the dominant trait, and if someone has it, it will most likely be passed along if given the right genes. Evolution is just doing away with it.
