LOL, here in Cali I guarantee that person could have burned this shit out of themselves with the coffee then sued because the warning was crossed out. Hmmm, going to have to start checking for this...LOL.
Actually the standard 200 degrees for brewed coffee at starbucks. (That's 12 degrees less than boiling) Lattes are steamed to 160 degrees and extra hot is 180. any hotter than that and the barista should warn you of two things: 1) if I steam the milk hotter than 180 it could scald (burn) it and it would taste like shit and 2) I have to warn you that any thing over 180 degrees is very hot and could burn you. :)
Well, no Starbucks in this area follow what you've written...I'm fairly certain. I explicitly ask for extra hot each and every time and I've never gotten anything even close to a temperature that could cause scalding. Or....I just like really hot coffee LOL =)
