Yea while all the out of shape people are distracting the zombies, I will be making my way around the corner to one of the many pawn shops, or the gun shop stocking up on my weapons. Then make a stop at the lumber supply store right next to that to get some supplies to barricade up my house. Glad everything I need is within walking distance...even though that is the last thing I will want to do...lol.
I still think that if a fully-alive and healthy person can't break out of a coffin and dig their way up six feet of dirt, then a decomposed, practically brainless zombie would have a much harder time doing so. The only ones that would have a chance at getting out in the open, would be freshly dead folks, and people in morgues.
You do realize how much 6 feet of dirt is, right?
That's besides the point. A zombie should never make it that 3 day or so standard funeral span before being buried. If it were a virus or bacteria causing zombification, it would be within minutes of appearing dead that the parasite would take over.
no it wouldn't. No human could escape 6 feet of dirt. Once you pop the coffin lid, or even poke a hole, what then? Especially if the weight of the dirt caves in on you. It would require a superhuman strength, not something zombies tend to have.
