If that belief however involves actively working to deny other American Citizens basic civil rights because you disagree with them, that's called fascism. As an American, i'm against fascism, and will pursue whatever legal matters are necessary to right the injustice, and punish the offenders. That's not persecution, that's liberty. If you don't like Gay Marriage, don't marry a gay dude. If you actively try to keep people from choosing the circumstances of how they live their life and start their families, you stand in stark contrast with our constitution. No one is telling you what you can believe or how you can live, it is your group telling people how they must live according to beliefs they do not share. Christianity has never been under assault in this country, escaping Church Sanctioned persecution is what this country was founded on. Your right to believe in God does not trump anyone else's right to live how they want. Now go sign a petition to ban a mosque and rant about how living near brown people threatens your precious religious freedom, while eating bacon and preaching the 1 part of Leviticus you actually agree with. Oh and news flash, when it's the establishment itself pushing legislation, and actively campaigning the issue, you can't blame it on a fringe aspect of the church.
