Oh sweet Jesus, paintball park. It would be like Call of Duty, only less infuriating and more awesome. Could you imagine camping there? (in tents, not COD camping) There is only one way off of it...
...a nice ride on a small renovated fishing boat back to mainland.
Adanzo Raptorclaw it's not built well, along with the constant fury from the sea hitting it continuously, it was abandoned in the 70s so no one has been keeping it up
If my wealth ever exceeds 15 million dollars, I pledge to buy this island and transform it into a bunker/archive of the worlds technology, or a post apocalyptic themed paintball zone and theme park. I'll leave it up to vote.
I think it would be better for airsoft, I think it would give off a better sense of realism (With the versatility and wide range of guns.), especially if you were doing something like Call of duty, or Fallout.
Wikipedia says it was a coalmining facility from 1887 to 1987, and implies it was a natural island before a coal mine. Shut in 1974 when Japanese power stations switched over to being petrol-fired. Max pop about 5,000.
No military significance at all, according to our non-curious friends at Wiki, so the 'battleship' name must just come from its appearance.
Anthony Iszler The paintball area will be in the original buildings, nothing moved, but with reinforced architecture for safety, and a tram will go over the entire island and inside some buildings to show it unchanged. The park section would be on the left side of the island where nothing is built to avoid demolishing anything.
Well obviously its up to the squad commander to send his men into an unsafe building and risk them killing themselves? xD After all isnt paintball supposed to simulate an intense battle experience? It would make it even more realistic if the odd building fell down xD

Oh Kimberly, maybe you should get some info before saying anything stupid like it's not built well and shit, they re-opened a section in 2009 for tourism, yeah some building still collapse, but some have been restore too and so on... they didn't re-opened the whole thing because it's too expensive -_- damn people
Soooooooooooooooooo there is no radiation, it was a coal mine...
As petroleum replaced coal in Japan in the 1960s, coal mines began shutting down all over the country, and Hashima's mines were no exception. Mitsubishi officially announced the closing of the mine in 1974, and today it is empty and bare, which is why it is called Ghost Island. Travel to Hashima was re-opened on April 22, 2009 after 35 years of closure.
Not up on current events are you? Fukushima didn't release any radiation? I wasn't talking about historical events. I guess common sense isn't common anymore....
omg seriously? we have radiation in the U.S. for pete's sake..........it's ok.... just believe what the media tells you and I'll believe the truth. It's still leaking, right now as we type.
