The Year Of The Apple

We’ve all heard of the technological giant Apple, from the iPhones to iPads to Apple Macs – they do pretty much design everything cool. Apple Inc. was formerly known as Apple Computer, Inc., and is a international corporation that creates electronics such as computers, computer software and plenty more. As you well have already heard of, Apple’s most famous product include the iPhone (a smart phone), iPad (tablet computer), iPod (portable music player), and the Macintosh computer line. The founders of Apple, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak created the very first Apple Computer on April 1, 1976. This means that for more than three decades now the Apple Computer was predominantly a manufacturer of personal computers, including the Apple II, Macintosh, Power Mac lines and the original iMac.

Their Uber Cool Stores

Have you ever been to an Apple store? Well if you haven’t the trust me when I say you are missing out – it is uber cool and everything is made of glass (you won’t miss it!). Apple has won an architectural glass award for the innovative engineering used to create its impossibly perfect glass lantern store in Istanbul, Turkey. The Apple Store took home the Supreme award for structural engineering excellence from this year’s Structural Awards. Eckersley O’Callaghan was the structural engineer behind the beautiful cube that is made of four panels of glass 10 meters long by 3 meters high.

The end result is a completely smooth and clear glass box with an innovative roof made of carbon fibre reinforced plastic that also improves the seismic performance of the structure. This extreme attention to detail and minimalist design is classic Apple, and it is something that reflects their products and personality.

Future

The Apple store in Shanghai is a temple for all who religiously follow in the footsteps of the technology giant’s products. Now Apple has been granted a patent, not for one of its products, but the giant glass cylinder staircase that sits at the heart of the Chinese outlet. The staircase is comprised of a glass tube that has curved glass stairs snaking around it. The glass tube has a white Apple logo floating inside, with a shallow moat surrounding it. Apple already has a 2007 granted patent covering the Store’s famous in-store glass straight staircase for which CEO Steve Jobs is listed as one of the inventors. The company is reported to be looking at similar cylindrical design for future stores.

Products of 2015

Will we see the release of the iPhone 7 in 2015? If we believe rumours…then yes! The iPhone 7 is said to be the first smartphone by the company to pack a whopping 2GB of memory. Many expected to see the jump from 1GB to 2GB inside the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus, unfortunately this didn’t happen. As we move forwards developments of more and more apps, with photos galore then it’s no wonder really why people are going to needs more data to go with it. Basically get saving? In a word yes, this one is bound to be expensive (not that they aren’t already expensive enough!)
